Collateralized repo. Maybe you’ve never heard of it, but it is the lifeblood of financial markets. Trillions of dollars of cash lent sometimes over night, sometimes over the course of 6 months. For “sellers”, it’s a way to make a small but guaranteed return on huge sums of short term excess cash. For the “buyers” it’s vital short-term liquidity.
Traditionally, repo was a closed club, only available to the largest financial institutions with literally hundreds of billions of dollars, transacting often directly with the Federal Reserve.
That is until State Street Venturi. A platform where cash buyers and sellers can find each other transact. There’s no minimum or maximum threshold, and all parties are vetted and backed by a guarantee against default by State Street.
